Model Number: LSR8233JQ0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a whirlpool top loading washer that is having a weird issue. I am able to use 1 complete cycle, but if I try to do another load of laundry, the washer goes right into the wash cycle without filling. If I let it sit overnight, the next morning I can do a load, but then the same issue exists. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? It makes no difference which wash cycle, water level, or heat level I use, I get the same result.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you Related Models |

No experience with this particular problem but can give you a couple possible causes.
The switch inside the water level switch/diaphragm may be sticking. You may have crud in the pressure tube that goes down into the wash tub. I would lean towards the first one. Run a load, remove the tube from the switch if it fills then the tube has a blockage. Could try just blowing into the tube If it does not fill then odds are the switch is no good. Give it a tap now if it fills, it is the switch.

Denman,
Thanks for the post. When I get home this evening I will check the pressure tube and try what you suggest. I can tell you I recently had to change the lid switch on this washer, and it is possible I pinched the hose when I reassembled the unit. I will let you know what happens. Thanks again!!! |

Ok, I have pulled the washer apart and there was no blockage on the tube. I pulled it off both the washer bin as well as the level switch, blew in it and it was clear as a whistle. I put everything back together and it worked perfectly for 2 days and then went right back to it's old ways. At this point I assume it is the switch. I am going to order a replacement and hopefully that will fix it.
Thanks, Justin |
