maytag washer
Model Number: mfw9800tq Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
The control board shorted out on my Epic washer. Ordered new control board. When replaced, the code F21 fault appeared, not communicating with the CCU. Could another part be defective in the washer or the new part, if so, could you give me some ideas as to what is wrong. Could you please help me solve this? The washer is only 1 year old.

Have you tried doing a hard reset on the machine. Unplug the unit for 15-20 min. the restart unit to see if this works. If not check all connections on the board and inspect your harness for loose or cut wires. This is what the Tech sheet reads:
F21 Possible Causes / Procedure 1. Check the touch-pad/LED assembly by selecting different cycles and changing the modifiers and options available to confirm the touch-pad/LED is responding. 2. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 3. Check wire harness connections to the touch-pad/LED assembly and Central Control Unit If everything checks out here you could have a bad CCU as well.
