The rod coming from the motor spins fine as I can tell by the C clip at the end of the rod spinning when motor runs. (Sorry. I don't know the names of all the parts.) When the motor is running, I can see that the inner parts of the clutch aren't moving so it's not that the pads have worn.

I removed the motor and took off the clutch and noticed that a pin seemed to be missing (see attached image). There is a small hole in the rod that seems to allow a cross-pin to sit in a recessed part of the inner clutch. Is this true? I searched around my washer but found no such pin and nothing fell out when I removed the motor/clutch.

I'm having a hard time finding an exploded figure of the clutch/motor assembly to see if something belongs there. This would be great news if that was all that is needed to repair my washer! Any tips as to what this missing pin is (part number, etc.)?

The motor shear pin is busted off, usually happens when the motor clutch hits the bottom of the washer due to a washer overload.
You will need a new motor, they do not sell the pin. AP2046330

I have had 4 or 5 of these pins break over the years. As far as I know they don’t sell just the pin however, on the ones that I have seen, I have made the repair by taking the clutch and the motor to a local hardware store and finding a pin that will work.

Appliance store didn't have the pin, but recommended a local electric motor repair shop. That guy had boxes full of those pins and found one that fit. (Picture of both old and new pin attached for those in search of one themselves.) Charged me a buck and I was out the door!

You can see in the pic why I couldn't find the pin anywhere around the washer; it had completely exploded! That small piece was all that was left in the shaft. After $1 and some elbow grease, everything's up and running smoothly again.
