I have ordered a new timer for my Maytag washer. Once I get the part, how do I change the timer out?

Maytag timers are easy to replace. First remove the knob. You can do this by gently prying the center out of the knob. This will expose the clip that holds the knob on the timer shaft.
Unplug the machine and open the control console. Remove the screws holding the timer to the panel. If you can, take a digital photo of the wires, as they're connected to the timer. That way, you'll have a ready record, just in case you lose track of what goes where.
Transfer each wire, one at a time, from the old timer, to the new one; Reassemble in the reverse order.
