Hello. Needing help. I have a kenmore model 11091551200 washing machine that does not spin during the spin cycle if the load is heavy. Checked direct drive and it is intact. I was guessing clutch? Does that sound right? Or drive basket? My first time messing with a washing machine. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

How old?

Could be the drive block or transmission. It takes a special spanner wrench to remove the drive block nut. You will want to call a pro on this ...or buy a new one.

FIRST OF ALL, "NEVER TELL A MARINE TO CALL A PRO" !!!!!!!!!!!! It could be the drive tube or the drive basket. Alot of times if you or your spouce uses fabric softener it can gum up the drive tube, and give you that sympton. Sometimes you can just remove the drive tube, and clean it, and then put it back together and it will work. Sometimes, you can also run a hot wash with white vinegar, and it will loosen it up and clean it. If you do decide to use the vinegar, fill the drum up with hot water, and add a 1/2 gallon of white vinegar, and let it agitate for 10 minutes, and then stop the washer, and turn the timer back again, so it will agitate for another 10 minutes, and then let it finish the whole cycle. Then drop a load in and see how it works. This might work since it is happening with a heavy load. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
