Please help - I have a Maytag SAV365AWW that spins slow, and the motor overheats, then shuts off. The washer will agitate and drain, but due to the slow spinning, the clothes are not as dry as they should be once the cycle completes.

I have checked to make sure that there is not anything between the two drums, and when disconnecting the drive belt, the motor spins fine.

I did notice that with the belt disconnected, the drum with rotate freely in a clockwise direction, but it will not rotate counter clockwise by hand.

I have attached two pictures. The drum will rotate freely (clockwise in the first), but it will not rotate (counter clockwise) in the second.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
