We've had this problem for some time, and it has gotten progressively worse. Whenever a wash or rinse cycle is started, the machine is prone to keep filling until it is continuously overflowing, and it will not advance to the next cycle.

Sometimes setting the knob forward or back would cause the washer to advance to the next cycle and start operating correctly. Worst case it would start draining water without ever spinning, and if it was the wash cycle's water that was draining it would move onto continuously overfilling for the rinse cycle and hang again. Now the position of knob has no real effect on anything.

FYI, load size and water knobs have no effect on whether or not the problem occurs.

I'm going to tear the unit apart and see if I spot anything. Any advice is appreciated!
