Noisy during agitation, quiet in spin
Model Number: wcxr1070aoaa Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
I have a washer that is making a lot of noise during the wash cycle only. Anybody know what's going on?

Take off the front by inserting a screw driver in the gap between the top and front near the edges to release clips that hold the front on.
Operate the machine and see if you can tell the source of the noise. If it is coming from the transmission, it may be the brakes which are in there and hold the basket still in agitation mode. Fixing it requires replacing the transmission unit, something you may not want to do.
