Model Number: wwa5600gal Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
The agitator was not working on our machine. We removed the plastic agitator and found metal filings. There is a rubber piece still attached in the plastic piece. Do we need to remove it? We have ordered a new spline/coupling but are not sure how to remove the old one. How should we accomplish this?

These are impossible to remove without an expensive puller, best to buy the agitator, AP2047266. Before buying, carefully check the tranny splines, if badly rusted/worn, you will need a new tranny. It is worth noting, these agitators usually develop a worn spline when the mating tranny spline wears.
