Hi, I have a maytag a612 that looks brand new. Purchased used 1 year ago.

In the spin cycle it seemed to always go out of balance so I tighted up the 3 anchor points to the tub which seemed to fix this issue. They were almost to the end of the threads on the eye bolt. I also by-passed the lid switch electrically.

Now the machine seems to be 'stuck' in gental agitation mode. When pushing the agitation buttons on control panel the motor makes the 'gear change' sound with little of no affect on agitation.

Spin cycle seems a bit slow but gets the job done.

I re-hooked up the lid switch and re-adjusted the achor nuts to see if this 'fixed' the agitation issue which it did not.

The belts seem to be very loose as far as V belts are concerned. They can be removed by hand.

Do you think the problem is loose belts that was just 'around the corner'?

Thanks in advance.
