I have a front loading kenmore washer about 4 1/2 years old and the inner drum appears to have fallen off of its mounting bolt/bracket/whatever. It just started banging around when it hit the spin cycle and I can see when I open the door that the inner drum has dropped by about 2 inches. Is the something a DIY'er can repair or am I stuck paying sears 70 bucks just to come look at it and to charge me who knows what to repair it? I took off both the front and back access panels and everything looks good and there are no loose screws or bolts or anything so it has to be inside the inner drum where the connection came loose. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you would be money ahead to buy a new one this is pretty common for thr frigidaire built machine what has happened is the tub support broke and you have to replace the inner basket and it's going to need new bearings as well which is the back half outer tub you are looking at 500.00 or better even more if you call Sears
