The washer overflowed while in the rinse cycle. I removed some of the clothes thinking it was filled to much, but it did the same thing the second time around. Is there a float switch or something that is not working?

Start the machine in any cycle. When you hear water entering, unplug the machine. If it continues to fill, you have a bad inlet valve. If it stops filling, the problem is more probably a dirty or clogged pressure hose, That's the hose that goes from the bottom right side of the outer tub to the water level switch. The switches rarely fail, but the hoses sometimes disconnect, get kinked or clogged, or split, allowing air to get into the hose.
