kenmore washer

Model Number: 11024964301 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years

When I start washer it fills with water as it should, however, with lid closed it begins to agitate as soon as I pull timer on. It also seems to add to much water during the spin cycle, I have to close valve on cold water or clothes are very wet. Please help
