Model Number: MAH3000AWH Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
we have recently moved and have our washing machine in the basement, where the previous homeowners had theirs. However, we had to purchase an extension hose, due to the drain being up the wall of the basement. The washing machine will not pump the water out until we move the extended drain hose down to approximately 5'. The height with the hose in the correct position is approximately 7'. Could use any advice due to pumping water into a bucket and carrying outside. Do we need a pump accessory kit? or should we purchase another machine?

I would dro the drain hose down to the 5' level.

If your drain line goes up the way you mentioned, you might need a sump pump check valve. My washer is in the basement also, and has to go up. I have a sump pump check valve on mine. The only other thing would be the pump. It could be clogged. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Hello, you could try replacing the pump with the newer 80 watt pump that Maytag offers #22003059. The original pump was rated at 40 watts. I like the idea of lowering the drain intake if possible because the washers are not designed to pump with high head like a sump pump is. Another point I would like to bring up since you own a Maytag Neptune MAH3000. Have you replaced your door latch wax motor? If not, check MAYTAG NEPTUNE WASHER R11 Q6 REPAIR KIT + 12002535 WAX MOTOR for info to prevent the Q6 / R11 machine control board failure. In addition, as the Neptunes age the bearings will eventually start to get loud in spin cycle. See NEPTUNE BEARING for details and save $800 on this repair by replacing your bearings and 12002022 seal kit yourself. They also offer the tony tool for rent to save you lots of time and effort.

Dude, if they do all that, they might as well buy a Fisher & Paykel, and never have to worry about a rear bearing, or a Tony tool. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
