My Frigidaire washer model FWX223LBS7 won't spin. Everything else seems to be working okay. It fills, agitates and drains, but won't spin. It smells hot after a while when on the "spin" cycle. The lid switch seems to be working.

youre problom could only be the belt which only cost about $6.00 or the motor.

It is possible that it could be the belt, but I don't think so.. I looked at the machine again this morning & found that the belt is slipping on the motor pulley. That may be due to the fact that the drum will not spin at all. I tried to spin it by hand from the top, through the washer door, & it wouldn't budge. I then took the belt off, set the machine on "spin", and then tried to turn the transmission pulley by hand. Again, it wouldn't budge either. That leads me to believe that the transmission is locked up. I am assuming , of course, that I should be able to spin the drum by hand.
