Washer goes through all cycles and spins to enable clothes to dry, but does not agitate.
Posts online said solenoid, but I don't think the solenoid affects the agitation of the motor.

Thanks in advance

Tim,

I have to agree with you, someone had the wrong impression of your problem.

What happens in the agitate cycle? no noises, no nothing

Does the motor hum, or even attempt to run ?

My best guess, at this point, probably a bad control board or a bad transmission, if the motor runs.

Based on the information you've given,so far.

Joe,
Thanks for the response. I took off the agitator/etc and the part underneath I would call the gear (fits inside the agitator) agitated fine. So I put the old agitator on and nothing. The 'splines' on the gear were fine so I bought a new agitator as they appeared to be worn out and hopefully tonight we'll be washing again.
Thanks for the try though.
