Amana washer will not spin-buzzing noise?
Model Number: LW8201W2B Brand: Amana Age: 5 - 10 years
My Amana washer will not spin. After tearing into it, the motor and pump were fine, and the tub spins freely. The
belt was shot, and I replaced that. The motor makes a buzzing noise, like there's too much resistance, but I can't feel resistance anywhere. Could someone point me in the right direction? This is an Amana top loading washer with a belt drive. Ads By Google Related Models

Check the tensioner spring and make sure that it is working properly.
If it is, the problem may be in the brake assembly, which is not releasing to allow the tub to spin. This (and old age) may have caused the problem with the belt.
