I had to change a coupler on the washer, and being as I had no experience working on washing machines, I mistakenly lowered the gearbox first, before realizing I didn't need to.

I then fitted the new coupler to the motor with no problem, but it was difficult getting the gearbox to go all the way back, I thought it was probably an alignment issue getting the 3 mounting dowels lined up.

It did go back into place eventually, and I finished everything, only now, if I attempt to turn the agitator by hand, it is locked solid?

I have not re-connected the power, as it seems to me that I should be able to move the agitator by hand and if so, I don't want to break anything by powering it on.

Anyone have any ideas as to I am right or wrong?

The agitator is secured to the gear case shaft with a bolt (#4 on the break down diagram). You probably damaged the bolt, the agitator or the bolt tread in the gear case shaft.

You have to remove the agitator now to inspect all parts.
