Model Number: LAT9334AAE Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
Motor burned out on our maytag, so I purchased a new one here (part No. 12002351). Question is the wiring seems a bit different. Instructions and wiring on new motor are different than existing motor. there is a plug connector wiring harness that connects to the new motor. The problem is on the photos in the instructions it shows four wires coming down from the top of the red, yellow, black, white. My washer has 5 a black, red, yellow, white, and blue. so I have now idea where the blue wire is connected on this. I did recheck to make sure I ordered the right motor I did get the right motor. Also the plug connector harness has two additional wires coming out a brown and another white but says these are used only in a two speed motor which is not what I have and should be disregarded. any help would be appreciated.

Maytag is notorious for changing this stuff and not providing the technical information necessary to do the repair. Even worse, they now have eliminated access to their tech site.
I can only suggest you try to contact Maytag and see if they will send you a tech bulletin on how to hook it up.

I have tracked down another picture of a plug connector harness which I am posting as picture one, picture two shows the plug harness that comes with this unit note the wiring color differences and positons as far as I can tell the motors are the same. could I wire it according to the 5 wire plug the wires would work I would just have to change the colors that match up. My main harness coming down from the top of the machine has wht, blk, red, yellow, and blue.

I cannot get the pic to come up (something about protection built into the site) but unless you can follow the wiring with a circuit diagram and are absolutely sure of what you are doing I would go back to my earlier advice.
