Still receiving F02 error during drain stages after performing steps below.

Jan 2007:Service Replaced Upper and lower Boards, Door Lock F11 repaired


Drain hose pump up to ceiling 7 ft 4 in.
Past few weeks. F02 error intermittent. Press pause then start and usually make it through the wash.
Yesterday: F02 error but can't get by them anymore.
.
1-Checked Drain filter nothing found, All hoses clear Don't feel anything at the ball top of black rubber hose..
2-Removed motor to Drain pump assembly. Bearings a little lose and nosy, but functional.
3-Checked voltage to pump motor I think it was good 110-130 volts (took me a while to figure out how to use the meter).
4-Replaced complete Drain Pump Assembly w/ motor (Part# 280187 $120.00 easy! )
5-Tested with short wash. No leaks. Received F02 error Rinse/Drain stage. Ran again, got it again.


Any help appreciated.

I get the same results. F02 Error clear and not able to get through a cycle. I am ready to throw a drain pump on the machine to try something but the old pump seems to work fine. The drains are all clear, all the way back to the drum. This is a puzzling problem that no one seems to know how to fix. Please help.

I found the follow info at the Sears Kenmore site searching f02 error, and there are many more you may want to review.. I'm going to follow the voltage to motor and check the presure switch paths next.

Thank you for your question. The F02 error code is a drain problem. First, I recommend cleaning the debris filter in the drain pump. I have provided you with an image below showing how to access the drain pomp and the filter. I recommend placing a few old towels down to soak up the water that will come out of the pump when the filter is removed. once the filter is cleaned reassemble the washer and check the operation. if you still have problems and are using HE detergent please continue on to the following instructions. <p/>If the drain pump runs or hums, you know it is getting voltage. If the pump just hums, there is something jammed in the pump. You can unplug the washer and remove the pump. The motor can be removed from the filter housing to clean out debris. The motor is mounted with 3 or four screws. I have often done this instead of replacing the pump. Check the vanes of the impeller. If they are broke, you have to replace the pump. The pump comes complete with the filter housing. If the vanes of the impeller are ok just make sure the seal is in position before you secure the motor to the housing. Then retest the washer if the washer drains you have saved yourself the cost of the pump and labor. <p/>If the drain motor runs but does not pump the water out I would suspect the vanes of the impeller are broken or the hoses are plugged. If the washer has water in it, you can check for plugged hoses by connecting the drain hose to a wet/dry vac. If the vac drains most of the water you know the hoses are clear and you have to replace the pump. <p/>If the drain motor does not run, you have to check for voltage at the drain motor. Only check the voltage to the drain motor if you know how to safely do so. Put the washer into a drain, spin cycle, and carefully check for 120 volts ac at the drain motor. If you have 120 vac you need to replace the pump. If you do not have 120 vac to the pump, the problem is in the wiring or the machine control board. If the washer is draining all the water and giving the F02 error code, I suspect the pressure switch has failed. The contacts in the switch can stick together and cause the same problem. To check the pressure switch first unplug the washer and remove the top of the washer. Locate the pressure switch and check the wire connector. It should be firmly seated on the pressure switch. Then carefully plug the washer in and start a drain and spin. Once all of the water is drained, the basket should start to spin. If the basket does not spin, tap the presser switch with the handle of a screw driver. This may break the contacts loose in the pressure switch and start to spin.
