I have an old Whirlpool washer. Stops after wash cycle;does not drain, rinse or spin. Have turned timer selector switch to different cycles. It has turned back on to rinse and spin. Now, I can't get it past wash cycle. Some say try lid switch. I will replace. But it looks like selector dial may be bad?? Please advise.
Thanks, Joe

Try lid switch first, your timer is pretty reliable.

Thanks for the tip. Would you tell me how to lift top of cabinet? I see the selector panel folds back. There is a connection on each front corner. Do they just snap up?
Thanks,
Joe

Pry off both ripply spring retainers, unplug lid switch, and tilt outer panel away.
When putting back, make sure the slots in the bottom of the outer panel go in the frame tabs on the bottom.
