I am trying to replace the clutch in my Estate(Whirlpool) washer. It is direct drive. I have removed the agitator assembly, the pump and the three mounting bolts for the gearbox. I can only slid the gearbox out about 3 or 4 inches and then it feels like the agitator shaft gets stuck. I have applied some force to it but don't want to force it and break something. Is there a trick to removing this, I thought it should just slide out.

Thank in advance for any help

Did you remove the agitator?
