Purchaced the support part(W10181639) from you but I cannot get it to seat into the outer drum assy far enough for the pulley bolt to engage the threads in the support assy. The seal kit does not touch the O ring at the base of the support part. Is it possible for the seal kit to be in backwards or wrong part?

RL,

Did you recieve the parts installation instruction sheet Part No. 16021976 ?

Are you sure the shaft "O" ring is all the way down and against the smooth surface at the bottom of the support shaft, against the support arm assembly(page 6 or the instruction sheet) ?

Yes, it is possible to install the seal backwards,

Several ways to check ,

A) The seal has 3 ribs molded into the outer edge, the end with the ribs should be seated into the outer tub assembly, in front of the tub bearing, and seated against the bearing face.

B) The front of the seal, will have a 1/4 inch "lip" molded into it, the lip should be facing out(towards you, or the back side of the spin tub, support assembly.

Installing the "new" shaft washer and nut, may,be difficult, but not like what you're describing.

Unless something is not seated correctly.

:) :) :)

Is the center steel portion of the seal kit, to have the liped edge at the beraring side or inner tube side? if liped edge is to be at bearing side HOW do I remove with out damaging the seal, or will Appliance parts Pros send me another seal.

I think I understand what you're saying

No, the small 90 degree angled part of the seal assembly (the large metal interior plate of the seal) should, both face in towards the bearing, back of the machine.

As for a replacement part, I believe APP will replace the part, but you'd need to contact the Parts Pro Team at 1-877-477-7278 for any assistance as for parts information.
