Washer fills, agitates, drains OK. Basket does not spin with clothes in machine but makes a loud "clicking" noise. The agitator moves @ spin cycle when no clothes in machine but basket does not spin. Thoughts?

The lid switch seems to be OK...all operative cycles (fill, agitate, drain) work with lid open and switch depressed with a screwdriver, but basket does not move @ spin cycle.

Check and make sure there is nothing stuck between the tubs.(you can look through the perforations in the tub, or see if you can manually turn the tub without a drag on it.

My first suspicion would be a bent/ broken drive coupling and or a slipping clutch

Thanks for the post Joe M. Made sure that there was nothing stuck between the tubs. Will let you know what I find, bad coupling(s) or slipping clutch.
