Model Number: LST7233DQ1 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
I replaced the Dog-Ears on my top Agitator and now it no longer slips but,
I noticed that the top Agitator seems to be rather loose and that could have contributed to the damage to the Dog-Ears. I checked to be sure the two (2) clips fit into the slots of the top Agitator (some say they can just be broken off). Even then the top Agitator can be moved around fairly easily by hand. I thought that it would be snug. There are no other pieces to change. The Bottom Agitator is very solid, no worn teeth, etc. Just some soap scum near the top where it fits under the sleeve of the top Agitator. Some brands say that the top Agitator should snap into place but this one doesn't. The agitator is not slipping with the new dog-ears but I'd like to avoid early damage if this looseness is a potential problem. Thanks, TomAllThumbs Ads By Google Related Models |

I was wondering if you figured out whether or not your agitator is supposed to wobble like that ?

Hi David,
I didn't get any answers from the forum but I have been using the machine regularly with some "almost too big" loads and it is performing OK. When the machine is loaded the laundry inside seems to keep the agitator from wobbling. It's just that when it was empty it seemed loose when the machine was running. So in operation it appears to work OK. Hope that helps even though it's not a definitive answer you may have been looking for. No slipping going on. |

Hi,
Our upper agitator wobbles too, when the washer is empty. I ordered the replacement agitator repair kit and am waiting for it to arrive. I hope to correct our problem by replacing the dogs. It sounds like the wobbly issue you are having isn't stopping your washer from working properly though. Thanks. David Quote:
