Angry spin cycle on frigidaire front load

I'm tool time tim's clone and I'm lost!!! My front end load will not go into the spin cycle, leaving the stinking water in the drum? I had just replaced the drum and bearings with little difficulty. Washer worked for a day and then the funy "smoke"smell from the front and the water would not drain and no spin. Any help would be appreciated!!!!
