Model Number: TAWS850PQO Brand: Estate Age: 5 - 10 years
Our washing machine took over an hour to complete a cycle today. Pauses in the cycle were abnormally long and lots of quick on/off action during the cycle. Could this be the switch cycle? We just replaced the lid switch last week. It's a 2004 Whirlpool, Estate, model #TAWS85OPQO. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help!

It sound like the timer or timer motor, but before replacing it I would disconnect all of the wires, clean the contacts with a good contact cleaner and reseat them, making sure you have a tight connections everywhere.
Check the lid switch connections those near it also.
