Ving, Which failure code(s) appear in the display, when this occurs ? Based on your information and description, you may have; a bad drain pump, something stuck under the impeller plate, or bad tub bearing(outer tub assembly). The failure codes, logged into the control memory, and displayed on the panel, will give us a better direction to take. Your Technical Date Sheet, should be attached to the inside of the front panel,(you'll need to raise the top of the washer to access it) or you may find it inside the control panel on a newer model).

The drain pump is a relatively, easy repair, in fact, you can check it, before you order the part, Part number: AP4365341 Most technicians, slide the machine out far enough to lean the unit against the wall, and climb under it. Otherwise you need to remove it far enough, to lay the washer on it's back. There are two pumps on your unit, the drain pump and recirculation pump. Removal is pretty much easy, disconnect the wire harness, disconnect the hoses, remove the mounting bolt and drop the pump. Check the inlet and outlet openings for debris and clogs, etc. You can also run the motor, if you have a 120 VAC test cord, You could also disconnect the wires from the drain pump and run the spin/drain cycle, see if the noise is there, if not you, need the pump, if it's still there, we need to move on the the tub bearing, drive motor. Basically, a complete tear down.
