Model Number: WBVH6240FWW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
I replaced the gasket on my GE front loading washer model number WBVH6240FWW today. After putting everything back together the machine is not responding correctly.
I had stopped it mid-cycle after replacing only the outside gasket clamp because it was still leaking. I had put the washer on the Rinse and Spin cycle. I ended up hitting the "Lock Control" and shut off the machine. I then proceeded to remove the service panel, top, control panel, front panel and lower counter weight to change the gasket and both clamps. I did not disconnect any of the wiring to the door or control panel. As I started the washer, the door was locked and I manually reached up to unlatch it through the service panel. The control panel beeped, but the washer did not fill and it paused every time it should have gone through its spin. Do I need to reset anything? I am wondering why it is not responding as it should. I am thinking of taking it apart and rechecking the connections. Thanks for your help. Ads By Google Related Models |

One of the three electrical connectors at the door latch was off. I thought this was extra since I hadn't disconnected it, but apparently it had come off as I was taking the front panel off. Since I reconnected it, everything is working fine and no leaks.
