washer not spinning
Model Number: lat9416aae Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
We have a maytag washer that was purchased in 1999. The washer runs, washes, drains but does not spin. Do you know what the problem could be?

The first place I would check (as long as this is the same in all wash cycles) is the lid switch assembly. If it spins in other wash cycles, the timer is suspect.

Here's a parts break down diagram. The lid switch assembly is #31 in the drawing. You can partially access it by opening up the console. Make sure you unplug the machine first.
