i cant seperate the bottom agitator from the clothes mover. almost looks li its being held in by the assembly.. or is the thrust washer holding this in , and if so how do i undo it without breaking it

I cannot get your specific model to come up, but if this is a basic Whirlpool machine once you have the agitator out it should pull apart. However, frequently gunk gets in it, so soak it in a bucket of hot water and then try pulling it apart.

after looking at the appliance parts pro diagram and following advice, i determined that the bottom agitator has little ears on the top stem that lock the clothes mover and upper agitator in place..these tabs were melted/fused, so i had to use a screwdriver to seperate them, and pull extremely hard to seprate.. unfortunately it rendered this piece useless, so i had to buy the whole assembly. but this sites price was only 45 dollars, which was awesome . now just waiting for it to come in...i dont know why they melted, but just wanted to say tis site was awesome and i was very impressed...will definately recommend it to friends. ty

Well good, sorry you had to get a new agitator. Don't think I have ever had that problem so I don't know what happened or why.
