Maytag spun slow and now doesn't at all
Model Number: MAV551EEWW Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
We have a 4 yo Maytag washer that was not spinning the water out of the cloths. Was watching it with the lid open and it was spinning slow. I then ran may hand in and was able to stop the drum from spinning with no pressure at all.
Checked the belt and motor and they are going fine. Agitator is working but now the drum will not move at all. I cannot move it by hand either. Pulled the inside drum out and cannot move the piece the drum bolts to at all. So everything works but spin and the drum will not budge a inch by hand. ANY ideas????? Andy,

When you turn it CCW the upper cam and pulley should ride up the lower cam in order to disengage the brake and turn the lower cam and the drive shaft to cause the transmission to spin.
Does it do it? Gene.
