The agitator dogs keep coming out of place and then the machine does not agitate correctly.

Well I am not sure you are missing a piece or just having trouble putting them in.
What I do is take out the whole agitator and turn it upside down to put in the dogs. This will hold them in place while I flip the agitator and put it back on.
