Model Number: MAH4000AWW Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Hello, I have replaced my wax motor/ R6 Q11 and just replaced my motor and motor control board with the replacement kit because my washer would shut off mid cycle and the clothes would be soaked. (motor made a horrible noise also) When I did replace the motor/board with the factory replacement the original belt was WAAY to tight. It took two sets of hands and a screw driver to pry it on. Now it goes through the whole cycle but won't seem to get enough speed to properly dry. The clothes come out about 70% spun. Could this be due to the belt tightness or something else? Sorry it's hard to explain. Any help is appreciated. -Rhode Island.

This is difficult to diagnose from a distance. It sounds like you rebuilt your board instead of replacing it, which certainly can be done, but it is tricky and easy to make a mistake, so that may be your problem. Also, the belt should have gone on in a similar manner to the old one, so it may be that something is wrong with the manner in which you mounted the motor.
I hesitate to say to give up on this machine after you have put a fair amount of money and time into a repair, and also hesitate to say you should put more money and time into it, so I would recommend you remove the motor and reinstall it and see if that does not help. Also check the the pump and internal drain hoses to make sure they are clear and the pump is operating correctly. This is one of the worst models ever made, and your problems are likely the result of machine design, not you, but that is not much comfort if your clothes will not come out correctly.
