I have a Kenmore model #417.98702891 that takes the old school vaned agitator here Part Details - FRIGIDAIRE Agitator, part number: AP2131582

I'd like to replace it with one less brutal on clothes, and more effective, namely this one, Part Details - FRIGIDAIRE Agitator, part number: AP2107246

There is a separate cap for the new agitator, namely this one - Part Details - FRIGIDAIRE Cup/cap assembly, part number: AP2107275 instead of this one Part Details - FRIGIDAIRE Cap, part number: AP2131574

But is that all there is to swapping them out? Or is it even possible? The newer agitator appears to have some type of vinyl 'clutch' mechanism built in to it, so it looks like i can just drop it on the drive stem, put on the newer cap and voila! done! ANyone know if this is at all possible?

Thanks for the input.
