Maytag Atlantis model MAV6257AWW wont spin when clothes are in. When empty, it will go through a cycle but it makes a loud whining noise. Can you tell me what part(s) I need?

When they get about 5 years of age they usually need a pump a belt a thrust bearing kit and the brake and stator and you just as well replace the snubber while you'r at it however you need to make a brake releas tool unless ya want to pay maytag 120 for one

I just received my brake and seal tool from ************ today. Cost me $108.37 with shipping. Took less than 7 days to get here.

Is there any other way to replace the brake? I hope to not have to do this again.

I read some time ago that if you find three 8-32 screws a half inch longer than the ones holding the stator in place, you can put them in, back out the short ones, then very slowly back out the long screws to remove the rotor. I have never tried this, but it seems plausible.
