GE says that exiting the test mode by unplugging the washer will result in a locked control/damaged/fried (whatever you want to call it). I don’t know if there is a fix for this other than replacing the control. This is why I refuse to tell people how to enter the service mode on these models. Clothes Washer Repair Guide

If that works please let us know because I don’t know what you’re supposed to do when this happens. All I know is your not supposed to exit the service mode by unplugging the washer. The manual says it may damage the control. I could see how it would be easy to accidentally do it because we are so use to unplugging and reconnecting.
