Kenmore Washer Elite Catalyst. Model #110.22052100. Several years of stops in wash cycles. Ran again by unplugging then replugging it. Finally sometimes touch screen lit itself and washer beeped on its own. We left it unplugged when not in use. Now touch screen will not light/work at all. Did obvious checks. I have OEM control board from you. How do I open console? Which repair manual do I need?

There are two screws; one at each corner of the console. They're either exposed, or, if it's a newer machine, hidden behind the pop-off end caps. Once the screws are loosened or removed, the console will pull forward slightly, and swing upward. Be careful to unplug the machine before you expose any of the controls.

When console was opened it had schematic and tech sheet inside. The control board when tested using tech sheet had failed as first suspected. Another whirlpool OEM board cost $160. The touch panel tested ok and now the washer runs fine. Thanks for your help.

Glad you got it. You saved a bunch of money in service call and labor. Well done!
