Washer has a broken milk stool bracket, so thats what i think its called, shakes , knocks and makes piercing squeal at spin mostly. What at the very least would it take to fix this and is it something I should attempt, I do consider myself mechanically inclined.

Looks like you will have to pull the entire tub, basket and tranny out. I use vice grips to pull the springs off.
