While in the middle of the wash cycle, smoke spewed out of the washing machine smelling like burnt rubber or electrical. The washer was still agitating. We pulled the knob to stop the agitator and to turn off the machine. I took off the front panel, it seems as though the burning odor was in the direction of the domestic motor. Do you have any idea what the problem may be?

I leaned back the washer to inspect the hoses and saw that the drive belt was charred. Should I just replace the two belts (drive and pump belts) or is there anything else that I should also check?
