Hello
I have an Amana Super Capacity Plus, 2 Speed, 7 Cycle Washer.
Tub fills, but does not agitate.
When timer is set to final rinse the pump does remove the water, but no spinning.

It is a belt drive washer.
I replaced the belt.
Motor works, but still does not turn tub/agitator.
I bought an Ohm Meter today and checked the lid switch. Has Continuity.
I then tried the Timer. I disconnected the clear connectors and tested them, NOTHING. (Yellow areas in the pic)
I also tried the red spots. Nothing.
No beeps, stays on "1".

Am I checking correctly?
Is the timer bad?
If so, how is the timer activating the water into the tub and rinse empty?

Any other areas to check if Timer is actually OK?UserPostedImage
Slowly going nuts, but bad timing $ wise and cant afford a replacement.

I can't really help you mechanically wise but I can tell you that we had an Amana washer we bought in 2005 and it was a piece of junk. It started making all kinds of noise (constant squeaking in every cycle) after only a couple years and the transmission gave out in May of 2009 after almost four years of use. The transmission was under a 10 year warranty, but you had to buy a seal kit to replace the transmission that was over $100 and they didn't cover labor so the price to fix it would have been almost as much as a new washer so we just scrapped it and bought new.

Hopefully maybe you'll be able to fix yours, but having bought a washer for almost $500 that gave out in less than 4 years just causes the word "Amana" to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I bought the Ohm meter and the lid switch and motor and timer all seem good.
I am not 100% sure of the age, and aquired it with the house, so no warrenty.
SO The $188 part and seal are gonna be required.
SCRAP!

I will pull the motor and pump and timer and scrap it at the scrap yard.
Sell the other items off on ******** for cheap replacements and get me a new one.
I just cant figure this out!
