I have an Amana washer in a rental, tenant reports that there was grease in the tub that got on her whites. I could not find any grease when I inspected she had cleaned it up before I got there. When I spin the tub dry there is a high pitch sound, did not notice any grease coming out of any where. When there is water in it there the sound is not audible.
What part or parts could do this and how hard are they to replace.

Check your agitator top for a retaining nut, remove and yank off agitator. Check the bottom of the tub for oil, if so you have a bad tub seal and bearing. Pull front panel and look for water leak around the tranny seal. This confirms bad tub seal/bearing.
Go to Appliance repairs, Appliancehelp, Appliances, repairs to dryers washers dishwashers fridges repairs microwaves ge maytag kenmore frigidaire westinghouse inglis, appliance how to take apart information, purchasing an appliance help, model number help, for replacement info. This is a fairly difficult job.
