My Maytag top loading washer has recently begun to leak from the bottom,.....also, in the spin cycle, it sounds louder than usual......curious? any thoughts?.....I am wondering if it might be the pump? thanks, Pat

The standard way we diagnose leaks is to take off the front or the bottom service panel and observe the machine while it is running. You should be able to see where the leak is coming from.

With the machine washing clothes and the front lower panel removed, take a flashlight and shine it at the motor transmission and see if it is leaking from the bottom of the tub or if it is leaking from the pump. IF your machine is leaking from the bottom of the tub, you will need more advice. Post on this forum where your leak is from?
