spin cycle goes completely out of balance on heavy loads. checked the six springs, all are attached and in good condition. there is about 3.5 inches of play at the top of the basket. mounting brackets at bottom seem to be okay. after researching on the internet, it sounds like i need to replace the snubber. my husband is handy and can do this himself if we had instruction. where can i find these instruction?

Go to the general talk section, enter in the search box, "Maytag Performa washer snubber replacement", and copy my article. You should find it complete. The last one I did, I used vice grips to put the springs back.
