My Kenmore Elite 3-Speed Automatic Washer w/Triple Smart Dispenser fills partially, then stops and makes a humming noise (faint). I can make it wash by switching over to the Rinse cycle to finish filling, then switching back to the wash cycle. It will wash the load like normal.

What's wrong with my washer?

TRy this: place your water temperature selector switch on "Hot/Warm", and start a cycle. Report what happens.

It will stop on the hot/warm setting. But, I did try the cold/cold and it worked.

If you have not inadvertantly turned off the hot water feed to the machine, the hot water inlet on the fill valve is fouled, and the valve needs to be replaced.

Thanks. I'll check that out tonight and post the results. Is there a video somewhere to show how to do that?

Look for Whirlpool (the manufacturer of your washer) servicing videos on youtube.

I cleared the inlet valve for the hot water, just a little debris was found.

Tried to run the washer and the hot water came through okay in the little area on top where you add the soap, but then stopped when it came time to come in through the back of the drum. This should help clarify the problem if there's someone out there who has any experience with this issue. Still using the washer on cold setting to get things done around here.
