Default Pump Drains Tub But No Spin Cycle
Model Number: LA5668XTWO   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

Problem: Tub won't spin to wring out load

Discovered problem when the washer was supposed to be in the final spin cycle. The water was pumped out; the motor was running; but the tub was not moving.
I shut the unit off and then retried a few times to see if it would spin...no luck, it just pumped out the remaining water in the tub. Next I tried to see what would happen at various points of a complete wash cycle...nothing happens. I assume nothing can happen because there is no water in the tank!
Any help or ideas out there?
Thank you,
Matt

You have a busted coupler, just remove front panel and motor. You will need to replace the motor coupler. Click on your model # above to order it.

Good morning Richappy,
Thank you for the advice. Fortunately, it is an inexpensive part.
