Exclamation washer stops at different cycles
Model Number: gsx9885jq0   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

The washer stop at different cycles sometime it will stop at the wash and sometimes it stops at the rinse cycle there is no motor sound or any sound other than the contact clicking on the control board is this a motor coupling problem or is this something wrong on the control board? If you let the washer set for a couple of hours and take it to the spin cycle it will drain and spin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When it stops, turn timer to spin. Will it now spin ok, if so, you have a bad control module. Click on your model # for part info.

Default washer stops at different cycles

This washer has a control board model#AP3855067 it does not have a control timer like the old style washer that you are thinking of so any more suggestions? The motor in the spin cycle is pulling about 8.5 amps. The motor in the wash cycle is pulling 9.0 amps this is well with in the the limits for the limits on the motor tag. I'm thinking that I have a bad control board? The motor coupling to the gearbox is in good condition. The bad thing about this hole problem is that the washer runs fine with no colths in it(all the way thourgh the cycle steps). The motor pulls the same amount of amps with no cloths or with.

When it fails, select drain and tell us what it does. If motor will not run, you probably have a bad/overheating motor, or an intermittent wire at the motor connector.
I usually check control module voltage out to the motor when it fails. No voltage there means module is failing, or power to it.
Get your parts by clicking on your model# above.
