Have a Whirlpool washer, water will drip inside the basket when you have the machine off. I am thinking I need a water inlet valve, not shutting off the whole way. Part # AP3094541. Any help would be appreciated, just don't want to get the wrong part. Thanks.

Wkotz,

Yes, I would have to agree with you,

You have a defective fill valve.

The part number to order should be :

Part number: AP3094541
Part number: AP3094541

Good Luck,
