My inner tub is difficult to get moving and will not start spin by itself.

I am disassembling to get to the bearing kit.

I am having difficulty removing the "nut - clamp". It had an accumulation of soil or salts on it, which I cleaned off. Even with a spanner wrench I cannot seem to get the nut loose. Knowing if this is a lefty loosy/righty tighty nut would be most helpful. Also any other suggestions. Thanks
