washer noisy during spin

washer noisy during spin

Model Number: ALW780QAW Brand: Amana Age: 5 - 10 years

During the spin cycle there is a loud rubbing sound much like a metal-on-metal grinding sound. A friend suggested greasing the drum but I have no idea how to get the grease down under the drum, between the drum and the base. Any sugestions??
